Celebrating together is something we always love to do, whether it be a birthday or family celebrations. In our nicely decorated restaurant “His Place” we celebrate Church feasts and special holidays. Such occasions are also very appropriate to invite friends and relatives and to let them sense our unique fellowship. The anointed and yet informal atmosphere touches many.
There are special highlights during the year:
Resurrection day (Easter)
The resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ, being the key element of our faith, constitutes the most important festival of Christianity. This is duly celebrated, with special music from the different choirs and drama groups which underline the gospel message. A festive meal in our restaurant is also included of course.
Pentecost
Pentecost, the birth of the Church as we know it today, naturally marks a special celebration in our community. The Holy Spirit of God, came to dwell intimately in each believer and desires to fill us to the brim with divine life, transforming and sanctifying us until we all come to the fullness of Christ (Eph. 4:13).
Christmas
Christmas time is the season, where people acquainted with traditional, religious Christianity, as in our area, are the most receptive for the Gospel. On a Sunday before Christmas we present an impressive program in the city hall of Merzig, where many guests hear the Good News in a refreshing and clear manner. The different choirs, soloists, musical and drama groups - the children playing a main role - make of this feast an important date in our church calendar.
Turn of the year
We celebrate the turn of the year in a hotel nearby, with a varied musical program and dancing in a convivial atmosphere as well as a festive meal.
